Who is Eligible for NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is designed to provide support to individuals with permanent and significant disabilities. Eligibility is determined based on specific criteria set by the NDIS to ensure that those who need it the most can access the support they require to live an independent and fulfilling life. Below are the key factors that determine eligibility for NDIS.

Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen: You must live in Australia and be either an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.
Age Requirement: You must be under 65 years of age when applying for NDIS.
Permanent and Significant Disability: You must have a disability that is permanent and significantly impacts your ability to perform everyday tasks.
Early Intervention Needs: You may be eligible for NDIS if early intervention can help improve your disability or reduce future supports required.
Residency in an NDIS Area: You must reside in an area where NDIS services are available.
